Poetry in the Schools: The Voice Within Us

In February and March of each year, talented Northwestern undergraduates lead a series of workshops in poetry for Evanston area students. Overseen by members of the Poetry and Poetics faculty, these workshops¬†grant high school students the unique opportunity to interact with Northwestern undergraduates and faculty, and to¬†explore the art of writing poetry as a vital means of creative expression, imaginative inquiry, and verbal experiment. The workshops culminate in a public reading of student poetry during the Northwestern Writing Major’s April festival of writing. We’ve gathered photo highlights from the past three years below.
